Curriculum Information


Advanced Placement Courses: Offered in Studio Art; Art History; English Literature & Composition; Music Theory; U.S. History; U.S. Government; Human Geography; French Language and Literature; German Language and Literature; Japanese Language and Culture; Spanish Language and Literature; Microeconomics, Macroeconomics; Calculus AB; Calculus BC; Statistics; Chemistry; Physics; and Biology. Honors courses include Physics, Essentials of Music, American Literature, English 10 and French 4, German 4, Spanish 4, and Japanese 4 (all language 4 effective 2004-05).

Accelerated Courses: Students may take high school level mathematics and foreign language courses prior to grade 9. Many students, while still in high school, enroll in college-level courses at the Davis campus of the University of California, Sacramento City College and Woodland Community college.

CAHSEE Preparation classes are provided, including reading, writing, and mathematics. 97% of sophomore passed the CAHSEE.

Regional Occupation Courses (ROP): Offered in Food Service; Computer Programming C++ JAVA; Cisco Networking; Biotechnology; Certified Nursing Assistant and Health Careers; Environmental Science; Desktop Publishing & Production, Stagecraft Production, Ornamental Horticulture, Automotive Technology.
English as a Second Language and Sheltered Courses: English, Social Sciences and Biology are offered to students with limited English proficiency.

Special Education Courses: Students with special learning needs are provided with academic support through Learning Center and full inclusion programs.
