Present: Tom McHale, Susan Hulsizer, Mike Cawley, Jason Bundy, Mike Cawley, Nicolette Gmoser-Daskalakis, Vicki Rich, Gail Cooluris, Christina Bernadac, Linda Preciado, Saatyaki Amin, Simi Singh, Robert Lawson
1) Approval of Minutes
- Minutes from Dec 11, 2008 approved
2) Consider Final Draft of Single Plan for Student Achievement
- pg 2 – Susan: Change “All … Students” to a set goal (ie “20% of Students”) . . . perhaps a goal in future years
- pg 5 (EL Coordinator) is .2FTE and pg 8 (EL Coordinator salary $8,000 = a separate duty; to clarify, what would the times for this individual’s duties be?)
- pg 11 – Susan re: Implement & Purchase PRS (Smartboard) - Is $2000 really enough? -- Could this funding be better used elsewhere ie EL Center Coordinators / more LCD projectors/bulbs? Yes, motion approved to:
* decrease funding Library Media to $8,000 total for LCD projectors
* allocate $8,000 more to EL Center Coordinator
* allocate $4000 more to Staff / Teacher Proposals
* redesignate Library Maintenance category / funds to “Maintain and Improve Library
and Multi-media Resources”
3) Discuss School and Library Improvement Program Allocation Process (Staff/Teacher Proposals)
- Tom McHale described last year’s process for Staff / Teacher proposals for SLIP funding (powerpoint presentation at staff meeting, information sheet to provide, funding request timeline, application process)
- Ideas of presenters for Site Council: Librarian, Technology Coordinator, EL Coordinator
