Congratulations to drama director Gwynneth Bruch for being named the Outstanding DHS Educator for 2004-05. Mrs. Bruch has served as a model of how one educator can help transform a community. As a drama director Mrs. Bruch has critically examined her own practices while engaging her students in understanding the nature of social justice on the performance stage. She has not been afraid to ask the questions of why students of color have not historically participated in her program... she has worked with her students to rectify the disparity in participation. Mrs. Bruch has taken risks to evolve and step away from traditional performances... to a more inclusive program where diversity is celebrated.
