Calming the College Admissions Frenzy

Wednesday, November 12, 7:30 p.m. Davis High School Library 315 W. 14th Street, Davis

On Wednesday, November 12 at 7:30 pm in the DHS Library, DHS PTA will present its first parent education night of the year.  Sally Springer, co-author of the highly regarded book on the college application process, "Admission Matters: What Students and Parents Need to Know About Getting into College", has once again graciously offered to speak in order to help DHS parents prepare for their child's admission process.

Dr, Springer is an associate chancellor at UC Davis and psychologist with over thirty years of experience in higher education as professor and administrator.  Her presentation is geared for parents of high school sophomores and juniors.  Dr. Springer also welcomes parents of 9th graders and believes they will find the talk useful.  Complimentary copies of the questionnaire titled "Determining Your Priorties" will be available for all attendees and copies of Admission Matters can be purchased prior to the presentation beginning at 7pm.

Dr. Springer has generously agreed to facilitate a January follow-up Admission Matters Q&A Session to answer questions which arise from reading her book.  Please mark November 12th on your calendar now and watch for more details.
