- Calendar 2005-06 Site Council meetings Here is the schedule for meetings this year: October 27 No meeting November or December; members may attend the November 17th Curriculum and Instruction meeting. January 26 February 23 March 23 April 27 May 25 Meetings usually are in the Large Conference Room unless otherwise announced. Meetings are from 3:00 – 4:30, although during the allocation process meetings run until 5:00 P.M.
- School Site Plan: Review We will start to review the plan at the next meeting as part of the WASC review cycle.
- Principal’s Report and action Sheila Smith gave the principal’s report. The Assistant Principal’s partial salary of $15,000, allocated last May, is not needed because enrollment pays for this and allows the fully-funded AP position. She asked that the money be dedicated toward reinstating the financial secretary position at the high school for a full day instead of a half day. The minutes state that we would split extra money, should there be any, between staff development and the library. However, it is not a binding decision and can be altered. The question was raised about funding salaries out of Site Council money. Sarah O’Keefe will investigate. It was moved and seconded that, given it is legal to fund the salary, we would fund the financial secretary position for this year with the $15,000. Discussion followed, including whether this is enough to fund the position, how many hours will be paid, will the rest of the hours be paid for by someone else? We will address these questions in October. The motion was approved with one abstention.
- Other Approved minutes will be posted on the PTA website.
There was no further business. The meeting was adjourned at 3:45 P.M. Minutes recorded by Jean Meyer
